FAQ

Questions, answered

What is a cooperative and how does it work?

A cooperative is a member-owned financial institution. Seeds & Pennies Cooperative is registered under LSCS 19744 — members pool share capital, and any annual surplus is declared as dividends and distributed based on each member's share capital.

How much is the share capital and how do I pay it?

Share capital is ₦10,000. You can pay it upfront when you register, or have it deducted gradually from your savings until it is fully paid.

When are dividends paid out?

Dividends are declared once a year, after audited accounts are presented at the cooperative's Annual General Meeting (AGM), and only if the cooperative recorded a surplus.

Can I be both a Regular Member and a Co-opLife member?

Yes. Co-opLife membership is a separate cooperative stake — you can keep a Regular Member savings account for personal goals alongside it.

How do I access loans as a Co-opLife member?

Co-opLife members become eligible for exclusive capital loan products through Liberty, Seeds & Pennies' lending arm, subject to standard affordability and eligibility checks.

What is the AGM and do I need to attend?

The AGM (Annual General Meeting) is where the cooperative's audited accounts are presented and dividends are declared. Attendance is encouraged but not mandatory for dividends to be paid.
